Guidelines are now available for the Mobilize Award, a new funding opportunity under Health Research BC’s Impact Pathway Program.
The award will provide up to $20,000 to support collaborative knowledge mobilization activities that bring researchers and research users together to drive real solutions for health and system challenges.
Who can apply
Applications open early October. Eligible health system staff and BC-based postdoctoral, early career and mid-career researchers may apply.
Each application must include a primary applicant, co-lead, and trainee, with the primary applicant and co-lead bringing complementary researcher and research-user perspectives.
What the award supports
The Mobilize Award supports a range of collaborative knowledge mobilization activities, including:
- Developing knowledge together: research co-production and community-led research for action.
- Connecting and sharing knowledge: knowledge synthesis, knowledge brokering, and end-of-grant knowledge mobilization.
- Advancing Indigenous-led solutions: Indigenous-led solutions focused on health and wellness research.
- Putting knowledge into use: commercialization, implementation, spreading and sustaining knowledge use, and scaling impact.
Applications aligned with one of Health Research BC’s priority themes are encouraged but are not required.
Indigenous health research and engagement
The Mobilize Award recognizes and values diverse ways of knowing, including Indigenous knowledge systems. Where appropriate, applicants should describe how their knowledge mobilization approaches are culturally appropriate, ethically grounded and aligned with the communities and systems involved.
Researchers associated with Indigenous communities and organizations, as well as Elders and Knowledge Keepers, may participate as researcher co-leads.
