STRATEGIC DIRECTION

Building and retaining health research talent

A strong health research system depends on a workforce that’s diverse, adaptable, and ready to meet BC’s changing needs. As career paths continue to evolve, we’re taking action to close gaps and expand opportunities, especially for underrepresented researchers and emerging leaders.

Guided by our strategy, we’re adapting our programs to support a range of career paths, enhance opportunities for Indigenous health researchers, and co-fund training that prepares researchers for roles across sectors.

By 2028, our goal is to see more diverse talent thriving in research and applying their expertise where it’s needed most.
