Overview
Michael Smith Health Research BC invites postdoctoral, early career and mid-career researchers, and eligible health system staff from across BC to apply for the Mobilize Award, part of the Impact Pathways Program.
The Mobilize Award provides funding for collaborative knowledge mobilization activities that facilitate the design, production, and translation of research that is impactful and relevant for the people of BC.
Award details
The Mobilize Award supports activities that:
- Enhance the design and development of research and/or amplify the reach and use of research knowledge;
- Create and strengthen relationships between researchers and research users; and
- Build knowledge mobilization capacity of research users and postdoctoral, early and mid-career researchers.
Applications must include one researcher, one research user, and at least one trainee.
Primary applicants may include eligible health system staff and postdoctoral, early, and mid-career researchers from approved host institutions.
If the primary applicant is a postdoctoral fellow, the award may be held in an account under their supervisor according to individual host institution policy.
Eligible health system staff include practicing health professionals who do not hold academic research positions, operational leaders, health administrators, or similar, who hold an eligible position at a host institution that has a memorandum of understanding with Health Research BC.
Applications will be organized into regional funding pools and awarded proportionately across the regions.
Funding decisions will use a modified lottery approach following eligibility and relevance review.
Health Research BC will earmark some funding for applications where the activities focus on a gap, challenge, or opportunity related to at least one of Health Research BC’s four priority themes, but alignment is not required.

About the Impact Pathways Program
The Impact Pathways Program supports collaborative, community-connected health research across British Columbia. It includes two awards — Engage and Mobilize — that support engagement and knowledge mobilization activities at different stages.
