Through REDCap, Health Research BC hosted 264 projects from 101 users since 2016. The goal was to provide access to an instance of REDCap to teams who wouldn’t otherwise have access.
At the time it was first made available, few other institutions had access to REDCap. Since then, REDCap had been rapidly adopted across the health system, and now most health authority and university teams can access it through their own institutions.
REDCap is an online application that allows teams to build and manage online surveys and databases.

Health Research BC stopped providing REDCap services in spring 2025. The final shutdown of the Health Research BC REDCap instance took place on Wednesday October 1, 2025 at 9:00am.
To inquire about and retrieve their project files, project teams may contact the BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute Data Management team at redcap@bcchr.ca. After September 30th, 2030, project files will be permanently deleted.
