Phyumar Soe is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Vaccine Evaluation Center at BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute. She has more than a decade of experience in infectious disease epidemiology, surveillance, program evaluation, and research, with expertise in HIV, other sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections, and vaccine-preventable diseases. Her work has focused on improving health outcomes among children, women, older adults, and other vulnerable populations. She completed her PhD in Population and Public Health at the University of British Columbia, where her research focused on COVID-19 vaccine safety among older adults, children and adolescents, and individuals with autoimmune diseases. Her current research examines the burden of vaccine-preventable diseases among immunocompromised children in Canada. Her goal is to generate evidence that informs equitable public health policies and interventions.
