Nisha Puthiyedth

Nisha Puthiyedth is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computing Science at Thompson Rivers University. Her research focuses on developing explainable and trustworthy artificial intelligence methods for healthcare, with applications in cardiovascular care, antimicrobial resistance, and precision medicine. She works closely with clinicians and health system partners to translate AI research into practical tools that support clinical decision-making and improve patient outcomes. Through the Michael Smith Health Research BC Engage Award, she aims to strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration and advance the implementation of AI solutions that address real-world healthcare challenges in British Columbia.
