Natasha Ramroop Singh

Dr. Natasha Ramroop Singh is an Associate Teaching Professor in Biological Sciences at Thompson Rivers University. Her research interests include biochemistry education, the scholarship of teaching and learning, open pedagogy, student – faculty partnership, and community – engaged research. She is particularly interested in how inclusive, evidence – informed and culturally responsive approaches can strengthen learning and advance community priorities. Her current work with Sekw’el’was First Nation focuses on building respectful research relationships and identifying community – defined priorities related to the social determinants of health. This work builds on a partnership that produced an open educational resource on Indigenous medicines with community knowledge holders. Natasha is a recipient of the 2026 Health Research BC Engage Award and the 2026 West Coast Teaching Excellence Award. She has led projects on open education, generative AI, scientific literacy, and student – created resources, published work in the scholarship of teaching and learning, and currently serves on the Board of the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE).
