Dr. Mohammadjavad Nouri is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Gerontology at Simon Fraser University. His research focuses on improving the quality of life of people living with dementia and their care partners, while advancing brain health and healthy aging among older adults through preventive, community-based approaches. Working at the intersection of gerontology, urban planning, and public health, he uses community engagement, knowledge mobilization, and mixed methods to examine how neighbourhood environments, community programs, and access to services influence health and well-being.
He collaborates with researchers, municipalities, health authorities, nonprofit organizations, and people with lived experience to translate evidence into practical policies, programs, and planning decisions.
Through the Health Research BC Engage Award, he is building stronger partnerships among community-based dementia organizations across Metro Vancouver to support shared learning, coordinated action, and future collaborative research that improves the health of British Columbians.
