Martin J. McKeown, MD, FRCP(C), is a Professor and the Division Head of Neurology at the University of British Columbia, where he holds the John Nichol Chair in Parkinson’s Research.
Trained in physics, medicine, and computational neurobiology (including a research fellowship at the Salk Institute), his work bridges clinical neurology with artificial intelligence, neuroimaging, and digital health technology. His research program spans brain network analysis in Parkinson’s disease, non-invasive neuromodulation via galvanic vestibular stimulation and low-intensity focused ultrasound, and AI-driven remote monitoring systems, including video-based and wearable platforms for continuous at-home assessment.
His work on patient-centred technology aims to translates complex neurological data into actionable clinical care.
