Laila Akbar, MS, RD, is a Registered Dietitian with over 15 years of experience in renal nutrition at Fraser Health. She holds a Master’s in Clinical Nutrition from Rutgers University and has led initiatives to improve patient care through evidence-based practice. Laila recently co-authored the 5th edition of The Essential Guide for Renal Dietitians, focusing on functional and muscle mass assessments. She serves as a regional representative and research committee co-chair for the Canadian Association of Nephrology Dietitians and has received research funding from the BC Renal Agency. Her combined expertise in clinical care, education, and research makes her a strong leader for this KT Challenge project.
