Julia Manczurowsky

Julia Manczurowsky is a neurorehabilitation postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia and the Centre for Aging SMART at GF Strong Rehabilitation Centre. She received her Doctor of Physical Therapy and PhD in Human Movement and Rehabilitation Sciences from Northeastern University, where her research examining how assistance and technology shape movement, learning, and active participation in rehabilitation was supported by a National Institutes of Health fellowship. Her interests in motor learning and rehabilitation technology were inspired by challenges she observed during more than a decade of clinical practice across healthcare settings and patient populations. She has published her work in leading rehabilitation and neuroscience journals and presented her findings to international audiences. By combining biomechanical and neurophysiological methods with the perspectives of clinicians and people with lived experience, she aims to develop interventions that are scientifically grounded and clinically meaningful to improving the lives of people with mobility deficits.
