Gary Cole

Dr. Gary Cole is a postdoctoral fellow supervised by Professor Aly Karsan (BC Cancer Research Centre, UBC). His research focuses on elucidating the molecular mechanisms regulating the production of blood stem cells. The goal of this research is to create and optimize protocols for the production of blood stem cells for patients requiring stem cell transplants who cannot find a suitable donor.

Prior to joining the Karsan lab, Gary completed his doctoral training at Queen’s University Belfast (United Kingdom) under Professor Helen McCarthy, where his research centered on developing novel immunotherapeutics for prostate cancer and was funded by Prostate Cancer UK.
