Spirit of The North Healthcare Foundation

Overview

Health Research BC and Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation are working together to support research, innovation, and health care improvement across northern British Columbia. This collaboration helps strengthen connections between researchers, health system partners, and communities while supporting opportunities that improve care and advance health outcomes in northern, rural, and remote regions.

Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation was established in 1991 to enhance health care within the University Hospital of Northern BC service area and communities across the Northern Interior, Northwest, and Northeast regions of BC. Working closely with donors, health care partners, and Northern Health, the Foundation supports more than 130 health care facilities across the North. Since its founding, the Foundation has contributed more than $40 million toward equipment, facilities, education, and initiatives that strengthen health care for northern communities.
