Health Research BC and SFU-FH Health Research Institute (SFHRI) are working together to strengthen community-engaged health research and innovation across the Fraser region. Through this collaboration, we support projects that connect research with real-world health system priorities and help improve access to sustainable, patient-centred care. One highlighted project is supporting Dr. Darryl Quantz and Dr. Maya Gislason’s planetary health research project exploring how Fraser Health can embed social and environmental sustainability into health care planning, operations, and community wellbeing.
The SFHRI was launched through a partnership between Simon Fraser University and Fraser Health to expand collaboration and research opportunities across the region. The institute brings together researchers, clinicians, health system leaders, patients, and communities to support research that is accessible, effective, patient-centred, and sustainable.
By bridging health care and innovation, SFHRI aims to strengthen research capacity and help translate research into real-world impact for communities across BC.
