Overview

Health Research BC and the Cancer Research Society (CRS) partner to fund researchers whose work advances cancer prevention, detection, and treatment in British Columbia. Together, we support research that addresses priorities relevant to BC communities, including Indigenous cancer health and prevention, environmental and occupational cancer risks, and the long-term health impacts of carcinogenic exposures such as wildfire smoke. This collaboration helps strengthen cancer research capacity in BC while contributing to broader national efforts to improve outcomes for people affected by cancer.

CRS is a pan-Canadian, not-for-profit organization whose mission is to exclusively fund research into all types of cancer. For more than 80 years, CRS has played a leading role in advancing cancer research across Canada, investing more than $450 million in research grants and fellowships.

Through its funding programs, CRS has supported thousands of researchers, whose work is driving progress in cancer prevention, detection and treatment.
