Since 2006, Health Research BC and the BC Epilepsy Society have partnered to support researchers whose work contributes epilepsy research in British Columbia. Together, we’ve co-funded BC-based researchers at the PhD and post-doctoral levels, focusing on both population health and basic science studies aimed at improving the lives of the approximately 40,000 British Columbians living with seizure disorders. The benefits of this partnership are highlighted in this video profile of 2011 MSFHR/BC Epilepsy Society Research Trainee Dr. Stuart Cain. Previous research grants funded by the BC Epilepsy Society have supported both population health research and basic science. The society is open to all types of research that would improve the lives of the 40,000 British Columbians living with a seizure disorder. More information on funded researchers and all of the BC Epilepsy Society’s programs and services is available at www.bcepilepsy.com.
