Cathy retired as the President & CEO for Northern Health in 2024 following a 42 year career in health care focusing on rural, remote and northern communities.
Over her career, Cathy led innovative primary and community care delivery models, partnerships with academic institutions to expand research and education, and established relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations to improve cultural safety and humility.
Cathy has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Masters of Science (Community Health Science), and the ICD designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors. Cathy is an adjunct professor in the UNBC School of Nursing and continues to be involved in health services research.
Cathy has served on a number of non-profit boards and is currently a board member with YMCA-BC and the Fraser Basin Council. She has received a number of awards over the years, including most recently induction as a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Nursing, appointment to the Order of BC and a recipient of a King Charles III Coronation Medal.
