Jeffrey Wong

Dr. Jeffrey Wong is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of British Columbia and a Reproductive Infectious Diseases specialist at BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre. His research focuses on improving maternal and infant health through evidence-based approaches to infectious diseases in pregnancy, including HIV, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), congenital syphilis, and immunization in pregnancy. His work spans clinical research, implementation science, and knowledge translation to inform clinical practice and public health policy. Through the Health Research BC Engage Award, Dr. Wong and Dr. Johal (based in Northern Health) will be partnering with obstetricians, family physicians, and midwives to co-develop strategies that address inequities in RSV vaccination during pregnancy in Northern British Columbia. By fostering collaboration with rural providers, this work aims to strengthen equitable vaccine delivery, improve infant health outcomes, and inform future maternal immunization programs across BC.
